Work At Home scams are circulating on the internet for past several years.According to Dancho Danchev of Webroot most of these scams are implemented effectively and successfully. These scams are using the social engineering in an effective way to find the victims. The natural thirst of a common man to earn some extra money make the process easy for the scam.
Dancho Danchev recently posted about these scams and how they are impersonating news networks like CNBC and making it genuine.
Here is one sample scam link.

The scam site identifies the user location from IP address and displays news based on that.I visited this site from Varanasi India and the news i got was "Varanasi Work At Home Mom Makes Almost $10,000/Month, Part-Time"
The site also displays some screen shot of total revenue earned by the person .
These reports are crafted in a way to gain the trust of a visitor. What else you want to believe, a report from CNBC and screenshots supporting the earnings. What ever links you click on this website ,they are redirected to the site http://hbs-system.com/main/ .The site is ready to attract the visitors with good design, lot of testimonials from the successful users and explanation of their methods with certain statics.
The most interesting part of this scam is how they process the credit card orders.According to the Webroot they are not using any payment gateways for order processing .All the orders are processed internally using basic SSL encryption ,fake "site secured " logos which include Verisign.
So Internet users please don't fall for these kind of scam.Making money online requires a lot of hard work and time .
